Recent reports have raised red flags over increasing teenage pregnancies in Rwanda due to alarming figures. In fact, Life endured by young mothers is so terrible. The majority of those who are enrolled in schools are forced to drop out to take care of their babies and end up doing all types of work to sustain themselves and their children. In addition to early childbearing, the phenomenon affects the very fabric of family and society leading to planned abortion, family conflicts, post traumatic disorders, inefficient psycho-social reintegration and immature parenthood. As this situation calls for positive pro-actions and interventions, the Catholic Church in Rwanda, through its Commission of Education (SNEC) has organized a National colloquium on ending teenage pregnancies in Rwanda- scheduled from January 30-31 2019 at Merdien/Umubano Hotel – Kacyiru-with special attention to what should be the better contribution of the Catholic Church to address the root causes of this issue.

  1. I really appreciate the item that will be discussed on! Thanks for that, but do not forget the influence of basic education given by the parents through their behavior. Normally Parents, especially women have to know that they are models of their children in one way or another. So, they have to control their way of behave at the presence of their children and their neighbors!
Anyway, who are participant? What are the requirements to participate?
